PRP (PLATELET-RICH PLASMA) TREATMENT
PRP (platelet rich plasma) is a plasma rich in platelet cells and growth factors obtained from the patient's own blood. This plasma obtained from the patient's blood is injected into the problematic area in small amounts at regular intervals with a small needle or cannula. Platelets are the cells that initiate wound healing throughout the body and their presence triggers the wound healing cycle and stimulates the production of new cells. There are no stem cells in the PRP solution, but it activates new cell development by stimulating stem cells in the areas where it is injected. PRP is effective by renewing cells in the skin and subcutaneous tissues.
PRP treatment is used in many fields in medicine, as well as in dermatology for skin rejuvenation, wrinkles, blemishes, correction of tone inequalities, treatment of under-eye bruises, removal of acne and scars, treatment of skin cracks and hair loss. Adding PRP to spot treatments ensures better and more permanent spot treatment results.
In PRP treatment, blood is taken from the person, placed in special tubes and placed in a centrifuge device rotating at high speed. The centrifuge device must rotate at a certain speed and time in order to obtain plasma rich in platelet cells. PRP can be applied to the entire face, under the eyes, around the eyes, neck, décolleté, back of the hand and scalp. Local anesthetic creams that we use in non-hair areas before the procedure make the procedure more comfortable. PRP treatment is performed in an average of 3-4 sessions at 2-4 week intervals. The first results of the procedure begin to appear within 2-3 weeks. Maintenance sessions at 6-12 month intervals ensure that the effect is permanent.
PRP TREATMENT FOR HAIR LOSS
It is an FDA approved treatment for androgenetic alopecia, i.e. male pattern hair loss (also in female pattern). It is used alone or in combination with mesotherapy treatment for hair loss. The success rate is high when applied in 3 sessions once a month in hair loss. Results can be sustained with maintenance sessions. It can also be applied after hair transplantation in patients who have hair transplantation. The effects on the hair are a decrease in hair loss and an increase in hair diameter, that is, thickening of thinned hair. These effects start to be seen after the 2nd month.
