Cryotherapy uses liquid nitrogen gas at -196°C.

Liquid nitrogen freezes rapidly in the areas where it comes into contact with the skin, affecting the target tissue.

It is used to treat warts, molluscum contagiosum, corns, moles, seborrheic keratosis, actinic keratosis, selected malignant skin tumors and keloids that may occur as a result of abnormal wound healing.

There may be mild pain during the procedure and temporary redness and swelling in the application area. The lesion heals by crusting within a few days and repeated sessions may be required.
